Audio Bullys announce new single

Audio Bullys preview their forthcoming new album, 'Higher Than The Eiffel' with a new single on March 22nd. Their label says "Only Man" is a throbbing piece of electro disco, with a propulsive hook line that can't help but put you on the dancefloor." Read more about it here.

I added some older Like Sugar podcasts to the list on the right. The shows are #17, #18 and #19.

Factory Horrors Computer Club

Photobucket
I have mentioned The Horrors here before. I found the most honest review over here. I had no idea that their most recent "Primary Colours" was recorded by Chris Cunningham and Portishead’s Geoff Barrow. Not sure why this band is on repeat tonight. I think it could be the Ian Rankin "Rebus" kick I have been on. The theme song reminds me of The Horrors. Is it them? I know Ian Rankin wrote the story for a graphic novel. I need to pick it up. Too much non-fiction in my life.

In other news, my MySpace inbox had this message in it:
Hey
We have a remix up on our space , take a listen!
cc vs one touchx

I am headed over to: http://www.myspace.com/iheartcc to hear this now! You may recall that I got all excited about Computer Club, only to discover they were breaking up! I played "Before the Walls Came Down" on Like Sugar.

Pony Pony Run Run mentioned and approved a couple mash-ups that include them here. Can't say I know a damn thing about Jay-Z or Destiny's Child, but this sounds like the late night party junk that causes me to abandon the dance-floor and line up for a pint.

How's this for us 30-40 somethings? Seems Peter Hook has "redeveloped, recrafted and entirely redesigned for the start of a new decade, Factory Records infamous central Manchester offices reopens as a nightclub, FAC251 “The Factory”, mixing live bands, indie and dance influences across three different floors for Manchester’s and the UK’s gig and club goers." My fascination with Sweden and it's music continues

My fascination with Sweden and it's music continues. I actually like this (thanks Pitchfork for the original post):

If you do the Twitter thing, here are a few Labrador Records (Sweden) acts to follow:
@skwbn @acidhousekings @theradiodept @starletmusic @pallers @club8music

Ok...what have I been doing? Nothing worth blogging. I seem to re-tweet more than blog. I see a ton of great info via Twitter. Funny how I have had more time off and I have produced less. When life is busy, I feel like I might miss out on something, so I pay more attention to music. I guess I can post what I have been listening to and what may appear on my next podcast: Echo & The Bunnymen - The Fountain (nothing new here); Little Dragon (giving it another chance), Miike Snow (some great remixes), Islands, Mesh (a perfect solution), Apoptygma Berzerk (Rocket Science is finally sinking in, especially the Suede cover), The Howard Stern Show and The Twilight Sad. I'm @djtalbot on Twitter.

Cranes to come to USA?

The end of a new Cranes newsletter below:

"Also, to all our friends in America and Canada... we have not
forgotten you!! We have spent the last few months working on
a plan to come to America/Canada and hope that in 2010 this will
be possible. We really hope to have some news for you soon
about this!
Well, that's about all our news for now. Hope to see you soon!
Love from Cranes xx
Cranes April 2010"

I own most every Cranes CD and I have seen them only twice. I hope they make it over here!

Trailer Trash?

Freaking out over the sound of Trailer Trash Tracys... it brings a part of The Jesus and Mary Chain and then some Glasvegas and the stripped down sound of The xx. A slight Cocteau Twins warp weaves it's way throughout. I love it.
God, why did I stop making music myself? This is what I wanted to sound like! Enjoy.

First!

I'm first!
I wanted to see my blog have 2007, 2008, 2009 and now, 2010 in the archive column.
Wow, I was in bed for 13 hours. I nodded off about 10 minutes before midnight, but I did hear some fireworks, unless I was dreaming.
I usually stream the Rose Parade on New Year's Day. Not today. Just gonna do some file renaming, then some back-ups. A drive died on me and I lost a lot of music. Sorry, but this post is so dull. How was your NYE?
