Jarvis & Generationals

Jarvis Cocker has made a free download of the Pilooski edit of "You’re In My Eyes (Discosong)" : http://jarviscocker.net/news/poolski-remix

I'm enjoying a full CD listening party: the band is Generationals (formed from the short-lived act "The Eames Era" who had their music show up on Abercrombie & Fitch's website and on Grey's Anatomy). Here's the link ( I like the Angry Charlie track: http://www.spinner.com/new-releases#/9

It's New To Me: Passion Pit

Well, I missed seeing Trash Can Sinatras because the date changed for the San Juan Capistrano show. I do look forward to seeing them here in San Diego on July 28th. I have two tickets...need to find another person that likes 'em to share that other ticket with.

After a few listens, I am listening to Passion Pit a lot this week. I like the album "Manners" much more than last year's ep "Chunk of Change." Here's the video for the latest single (a song I would have picked as the first single)!

San Diego: Promo Video for local shop

Just passing along a video that Lee / (DJ) Dr. Indulgent created for his new shop here in University Heights. He's one of my favorite local DJs and I am happy to see him launch his own store. Hunt & Gather even has rare vinyl!

Bloc Party shows love for a fan

Photobucket
How sweet is this? How many bands would care so much for their fans? Here's what is written in the Bloc Party newsletter:

"Nettie Remembered

On a very different note, we're sending all our thoughts and prayers to the family of Jennifer John right now. Jen, also known as Nettie, was very sadly killed in a car accident last Saturday. Nettie was truly one of our biggest fans and the thought of no longer seeing her in the front row of our gigs is a very difficult one to deal with at the moment. We shall miss her dreadfully.

For those of you who might want to share your thoughts and tributes to Nettie, please have a look at the thread at blocparty.net.

She is very much in our thoughts.

Catching Up With my blog

I think the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs "It's Blitz!" is their finest material and I have come across a review that I can agree with. Read it here.

Spinner.com has a free .mp3 from Felix Da Housecat titled "We All Want To Be Prince." Not too bad for this cat. Get it here.

I'm enjoying a bunch of new synthpop courtesy of the steaming player available at A Different Drum. It's a fine selection of tracks, and a perfect background to catching up on my blog! Elegant Machinery's "Move" is the mix too! Listen here.

Oh... what else? I haven't blogged much because most of my info is coming off twitter these days. I don't want my blog to become a list of RT (retweets).

My podcast (Like Sugar 25) is still available on zshare (as well as iTunes and Odeo).
