Saudade - Todd from A Different Drum label

I only recently stumbled upon this. Todd Durrant, the man behind the world's best synthpop / electronic pop label, A Different Drum has a music project named Saudade.
I thought it was funny / ironic to see his myspace page lists his band as "unsigned". Can't he sign himself?
