New Sambassadeur & Firefox AK singles
Glamour, French sixties, dance pop, Miami Vice-percussion... Sambassadeur's new single "Final say" is an eclectic mix of influences from the past and snapshots from the future. "Something's lost and nothing's gained, this is my final say" states Anna with a voice that would make Françoise Hardy envious.
”Final say” is backed by the brand new track "Crooked spine". It's one of very few songs guitarist/songwriter Daniel has sung since their debut album, and possibly the best he’s put his vocals on to date. Imagine a collaboration between early Jesus and Mary Chain, Abba and Carol King produced by Phil Spector and you’ll have a slight idea of what this little gem is all about. Exclusive for this single!

Big guitars and electronics done right. Tolerable even now, I must say!

Silver Screen offer unreleased track
From Silver Screen
Wild Mountain Thyme
....a cover of a Scottish folk song from the 1880s. it is a love song of sorts that beckons us to go with our loved ones to pick the indigenous wild mountain thyme of the scottish highlands. there are many slight and not so slight variations of the tune recorded and performed throughout different countries of the world over the years, this is my interpretation. this song will not be on the next silver screen record, but it will be here for about a month or so,and you can click 'download' if you like. hope you enjoy it.

Dive Deep - new Morcheeba coming
A 6th Morcheeba album is coming out on my birthday! I have not looked into who will be on vocals. It was the singing that first attracted me to their earlier trip-hop work. I was a little bummed by the last album.

The Moe Sizlack of blogs?
Even with Odeo's outage over the past weekend, my popcast 4 has 187 hits. I take this to mean it's growing.
....But...is the blog the Moe Sizlack of blogs? I'm getting desperate here. I need a comment. Even a 'bot spam comment. *sobbing*
If you glance at this blog, be kind and tell me who you are!

Time Marches On
This message from Sing-Sing was in my inbox today:
Dear all,
Firstly, we hope you have had a great holiday season.
Secondly, sorry that we have been so quiet of late. Things have been changing in our personal lives in very significant ways so we haven't had much to report bandwise...
Until now that is....
After 10 mostly very happy but sometimes very difficult years we have decided to 'call it a day' (i.e. end) with Sing-Sing. In 2006 Emma moved to Brighton, East Sussex where she is involved in music publicity and last year Lisa wed her long-term partner Run Wrake, moved to the Kent countryside and is enjoying her newly found freedom as a mum and freelance graphic designer. Even Mark van Hoen, our erstwhile producer, is moving to the USA later in 2008.
So we leave behind 2 albums 'The Joy of Sing-Sing' (2001) and 'Sing-Sing and I' (2005) and many singles. If you haven't got the full set most of you can buy everything on iTunes now (remember to search for 'Sing-Sing' with the hyphen). We do still have physical stock in our shop and we do need to clear it all out before the end of January so please take a peek and take advantage of our mad sale which will end on January 31st.
https://secure-www.areti.com/sing-sing/catalog/
The website will also be shutting down at that time but we are going to leave our myspace page up for information and contact.
From the last 10 years, people we would like to thank especially are: -
Alan Moulder, Andrew Pettitt, Audrey Riley, Brendan Bourke, Brian David Stevens, Brian McDonald, Bunny Schendler, Charlie Pritchard-Williams, Darren Groucutt, Denis Blackham, Jorge Martinez, Kieran Evans, Marc Geiger, Mark van Hoen, Mel Brown, Michael 'Shifty' Scrivens, Mig Morland, Poppy Gonzalez, Ray O'Neill, Rich Holtzman, Robin Guthrie, Rodger Smith, Russell Yates and Tim Keegan
plus of course everyone who sent donations to us over and above what we asked for with the selling of our CDs. We honestly could not have done it without you. We were a true DIY act in the end and our friends and fans were our most important assets.
In fact, thanks to everyone who have supported us since our first record in 1998. Yes, that long ago - where has the time gone?
As for the future musically? Well, never say 'never'...... Emma has some plans regarding her next move so if you are interested in that then please stay on this mailing list as 2008 might have something very exciting in store. Of course, if you wish you can unsubscribe.
That's all folks and our very best wishes for 2008!
Lots of love,
emma and lisa
