4AD Announces Purity Ring Album: Shrines

4AD says "Released on July 24th, 2012, Shrines is the debut album by Purity Ring, a Halifax/Montreal-based duo comprised of Corin Roddick and Megan James.
Megan's remarkable voice is at once ecstatic and ethereal, soaring joyfully through Corin's carefully chopped beats, trembling synths, and skewed vocal samples.
Despite the band's young age (Corin is 21, Megan 24) and short gestation (they formed in late 2010), Purity Ring have delivered one of 2012's most assured - and anticipated - debuts with Shrines.

Fell in love with this one on first listen. Must find more! RCRD LBL says: "The A-side is super New Yorky with a Velvets-meets-jangle dream ethos and guitars dripping in trebly melody. It's like My Bloody Valentine discovered New Zealand summers."

4AD Signs Daughter

4AD announced: "The London-based trio of Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli and Remi Aguilella, collectively known as Daughter, has signed to 4AD worldwide, outside of North America.
On the strength of just two EPs, His Young Heart and The Wild Youth, Daughter have built for themselves a dedicated following, illustrated by their sold-out show at the 700-capacity Assembly Hall in North London. No mean feat for a band whose current incarnation has been performing together for a mere eighteen months."

Dive - How Long Have You Known?

Found this nice little dreamy piece in my inbox today. There used to be a (Belgian?) industrial act called Dive. Wonder why bands don't do a little research before deciding on a name. At some point, we can ask "How long have you known?"
