The Horrors: I can hardly understand this post

Only a partial Grammar-Nazi, it's with some pain that I am just going to re-post this "sic" Rough Trade / The Horrors thingy I saw I the myspace on the Internets:

Rough Trade exclusive with a bonus mix cd by tom furse and rhys webb and if you know anything about the horrors you will know this mix is worth the admission price alone. 'primary colours' is a total revelation and demands you forget all pre conceptions of the horrors. 'primary colours', the follow up to their 2007 debut 'strange house', features ten tracks and was recorded last summer with chris cunningham and portishead's geoff barrow. much as my bloody valentine went from crampsesque rockers to sonic wanderers, primal scream dropped the cosmic garage rock jangle for insanely popular crossover sounds of 'screamadelica' and and liars threw away trucker cap hipster rhythms in favour of a concept album about witches, the horrors have returned with an album that cries re-invention and modern day classic at the same time. in parts it's dark and claustrophobic like the cure's 'faith' and bauhaus and in others it has the groove of neu! and the pop of the psychedelic furs. this is a fantastic album and an equally fantastic mix tape.

Trent Reznor and Kevin Rose

Kevin Rose (Digg) is going to ask Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails (NIN) a bunch of "the most popular questions as submitted and voted upon by you". You have until April 4th to submit questions.
I'm sure my question about Exotic Birds will be vote-less.

Intimacy Remixed - Bloc Party

Bloc Party announced that on the 11th of May they will be releasing ‘Intimacy Remixed’ on limited edition CD or triple 12”. It will also be available digitally.

The album will include remixes by Gold Panda, Mogwai and Filthy Dukes and will lead off with a remix of ‘Signs’ by Armand Van Helden which will be released on the 27th of April.

Cranes 1994 album 'Loved' re-issued in the UK

I am a HUGE Cranes fan. Leave me a hello comment if you are too! Oddly, this is the one concert that my then-girlfriend passed-out at. Poor Karin. It was simply too hot and overcrowded in the club.

Cranes 1994 album 'Loved' is being re-issued by Cherry Red Records in the UK.
The re-issue features 18 songs (including 7 extra tracks from
theShining Road single and B-sides) plus a 16 page booklet
with the cover artwork and photos from the period, plus
new sleeve-notes about the making of the album.
The album is now available in limited quantities on CD by

"My Emily " remix released on iTunes.
"There will be more good news when spring comes along", Anneli said after an exclusive release of "My Emily (Birthday Remix)" on the iTunes Store. The song from the "Frolic" album has been remixed by "Lost Memories" to a spheric, trancy, dance version.

A previously unreleased Bel Canto track "Flowerbeds" has been released officially on a Norwegian rarities double CD compilation "Maskindans: Norsk synth 1980-1988" called "Flowerbeds".

A New Labrador

Labrador Records have signed "Little Big Adventure". The name reminds me of the video game Little Big Planet...but, then, there is always something there to remind me.

"All my songs are about hate," says Magnus, of Little Big Adventure.

Labrador writes: "Little Big Adventure - a superb one man band that moves in inexplicable ways. We'll release the debut "The Hateful Eye EP" on May 13. You'll get to hear them long before that of course... today to be exact. Enjoy!"

I wish I could hit The Pig's Ear tonight. Alas, this legendary bar closed years ago and I now live 100 miles away. I miss my Irish friends. They told me they have never heard of corned beef and cabbage. I always wondered why they left Ireland for The Inland Empire. I did wear a green plaid shirt today.

Forgetting

I waited until this weekend to watch the Blu-ray DVD of "Forgetting Sarah Marshall". I laughed pretty hard. It's been exactly two years since my wife walked out on me and this was exactly the film for a sad sack like me! Don't worry about me. I can honestly say my life is better than it's every been. Lonely. But better. Yet... lonely. But, better is better than lonely, right!

Sharing Sounds

I wanted to share a couple acts that I have followed for a short while. For no particular reason, I'm connecting with their music tonight. I am working on Like Sugar #23, so I am re-re-re-listening to my collection of unsorted mp3s. It's nice to discover several new tracks from an artist that you've been into.

So, check out Everyday Sensations here. This is synthpop with less of the dance-floor in mind and more intelligent in general.

Computerclub released their album in October 2008, but I just now began exploring more of it. Find them here. I really find their sound a perfect mesh of genres, and if you listen to my my podcasts, you'll hear why (a Joy Division / Editors / Interpol sound with a bit 'o shoegazer).

Also want to mention a great new synthpop track from Ostrich. It's called "Press Hold" and I hope to include it on Like Sugar 23.

Yes, it's finally here. Recorded over the whole of February. Not that that means that it's more content-rich...it just means I took a long time to get it out the door. Again, the music was easy to assemble. The talky part is the delay. Hope you enjoy it. I think it came out well. It's got more rock, by design, than then the last episode. I want to appeal to a broad audience (but not too broad).
